BPF 2024 — Festival Catalogue

The 2024 Budapest Photo Festival (8th edition) ran from late March to June, turning the city into a vibrant open-air gallery of contemporary and classical photography.

Spanning dozens of museums, galleries and cultural spaces (including Kunsthalle, Kiscelli Museum and Robert Capa Centre), it featured over 30 exhibitions by Hungarian and international artists, plus workshops, lectures, screenings and a photo-book fair.

Founded by photographer Szilvia Mucsy and curator Rita Somosi, it continued its mission to position Budapest as the “City of Photography.”

Standout highlight: the opening “Women’s Focus” exhibition at Kunsthalle Budapest, showcasing powerful humanist works by Magnum Photos legends Eve Arnold, Susan Meiselas, Inge Morath, Nanna Heitmann and Marilyn Silverstone.
